Most of the hamlets and village houses are now at the source of the Blizonjac stream and the course of the Rabas.

history

On the hill Blizonjski vis , especially on its east side, one can find traces of mining from the Middle Ages . According to folk legends, lead and abundant silver were mined in these mines . Little is known about the first inhabitants of the village, one only mentions that they left the village long before the present-day inhabitants and moved across the Sava River into flat areas, where, however, is unknown.

Houses, wooded hills and fields in the village

Two brothers are considered to be the founders of the village who re-founded the abandoned village consisting of only forest in the early 17th century or a little earlier. These were sent from the Trinity Monastery near the northern Montenegrin town of Pljevlja in Polimlje Oblast , from their hometown, to escape the Ottoman yoke.

According to the folk legend (which is supposed to be based on true events) the brothers, who actually wanted to move further north, took a rest with their wives and horses at today's Blizonjac stream and the Rabas river. In the same night, both women and both mares had their children or foals, which motivated the brothers to stay longer at the place, which they liked so much that they settled here permanently. Since both women and mares had their offspring here, the stream and later the whole village was named after the Serbian word for twin (Blizanac). What changed over time in Blizonje.

Most of today's families in the village are descended from these two brothers. These inhabit all of the hamlets except for Bobija. Many of the family members moved to the Tamnava region . The Marković family, whose ancestors were settled here by the Turks, live in the hamlet of Bobija. They originally come from the Bosnian city of Zvornik .

In 1735 the Valjevo eparchy mentions the village of Blizonje with 20 households. In the same year the village is mentioned as Plissonive in a list of the villages of Palež Okrug. In 1818 the village with 34 households is mentioned in the Ottoman tax records. In 1866 there were 321 residents in 37 households. And in 1900 there were 390 people living in the village, spread over 39 households. In the early 20th century, Blizonje belonged to Opština Brankovina in Srez Valjevo.
