Robert "Bob" Kudelski (born March 3, 1964 in Springfield , Massachusetts ) is a former American ice hockey player , who during his active career between 1983 and 1996 for the Los Angeles Kings , Ottawa Senators and Florida Panthers in national hockey League has played in the position of the center .
Career
After Kudelski had played in various junior teams, he moved to the renowned Yale University in 1983 at the age of 19 . There he played while studying for the university's ice hockey team, which played in ECAC Hockey , a division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association . In total, Kudelski ran for four years for the team and was selected during this time in the NHL Supplemental Draft 1986 in ninth place by the Los Angeles Kings . In his senior year he was the team's top scorer and was appointed to the ECAC's First All-Star team.
In the summer of 1987, the attacker finally switched to the professional field and came in his first two years both with the Los Angeles Kings in the National Hockey League and their farm team , the New Haven Nighthawks , from the American Hockey League to use. From the 1989/90 season , Kudelski was a regular for the Kings. In December 1992 the two separated when the center was given to the Ottawa Senators together with Shawn McCosh for Marc Fortier and Jim Thomson . In the Canadian capital, however, Kudelski only stayed a good year, as he had already in January 1994 - despite a significant improvement in his point yield - for Evgeny Dawydow , Scott Levins , a six- round suffrage in the NHL Entry Draft in 1994 and a four-round suffrage in the NHL Entry Draft 1995 was given to the Florida Panthers . Across all teams, the center forward completed by far his best NHL season with 70 scorer points in 86 games. With the 86 games that came about by the change, he set the NHL record for completed games in a season by Jimmy Carson . The appearances in the 1993/94 season also earned him a nomination for the 45th NHL All-Star Game .
Kudelskis was able to take his services with him in the 1994/95 NHL season, which was shortened by the lockout . After that, he hardly played a role in the coaches' plans and only made 13 NHL appearances in the 1995/96 season and then ended his career.
