Bodo Chandler

Bodo Krämer (born January 31, 1945 in Marienwerder ; † June 23, 2003 in Berlin ) was a German actor .

Life

Krämer was originally a trained automotive electrician . He completed an acting training at the University of Film and Television "Konrad Wolf" in Potsdam-Babelsberg .

As a theater actor, Krämer interpreted a broad repertoire , which included plays by William Shakespeare , the German authors of the Classical and Romantic periods , the theater of the turn of the century , but also plays from modern times and contemporary theater.

The director Fritz Marquardt brought him to the Volksbühne in Berlin in 1970 for his production of the play Avantgarde by Valentin Katajew . From the 1970/71 season onwards, Krämer was a permanent member of the Volksbühne ensemble, where he played numerous larger and smaller roles. He worked with directors Benno Besson , Manfred Karge , Matthias Langhoff , Siegfried Höchst , Frank Castorf and Leander Haußmann , among others . In 1992 he took on the role of the fool in King Lear , the opening production by artistic director Frank Castorf.

His other stage roles included: Edgar Wibeau in the stage version of Die neue Leiden des Junge W. , Schweizer in Die Räuber (staged by Frank Castorf) and the factory owner Dreißiger in Die Weber . His last role (premiere: December 2000) he had as an aged disc jockey in Leander Haussmann's production Paul and Paula based on Ulrich Plenzdorf's literary model.

Since the late 1960s, Krämer also worked in film and television productions for DEFA and television in the GDR . He had a small role in 1973 under the direction of Heiner Carow in the movie Die Legende von Paul und Paula . The director Egon Günther cast him in his film The Sorrows of Young Werther (1976) as Friederike's lover Mr. Schmidt . After the fall of the Berlin Wall , Krämer also took on roles in the television series Praxis Bülowbogen , Frauenarzt Dr. Markus Merthin and Wilde Zeiten . He was also seen several times in episodes of the crime series Polizeiruf 110 .

Krämer also worked on radio play productions in the GDR . He can be heard in the fairy tales Little Red Riding Hood (as a hunter), The brave little tailor (in the title role) and in Der Fischer und seine Frau .

Kramer succumbed to cancer .
