Bodo Selge
Bodo Selge (born April 7, 1911 in Berlin , † March 18, 1996 in Bremerhaven ) was a German lawyer and politician ( SPD ). Selge was Lord Mayor of the Seaside City of Bremerhaven from February 12, 1958 to September 30, 1978 .
biography
Selge made his Abitur in 1930 at the Prinz-Heinrich-Gymnasium in Berlin. From April 1930 to autumn 1933 he studied law and political science at the Humboldt University in Berlin . The first state examination followed in 1934. In 1938 he passed the major state examination at the Berlin Superior Court . From 1934 to 1938 he worked as a court and government trainee, then for a year as a government assessor in Swinoujscie . From 1939 to 1940 he was a government assessor in Klattau (today Klatovy , Czech Republic). In 1940 he was appointed government councilor . Until 1945 he was in this office in Pardubitzactive. From 1942 to 1945 he did military service on the western and eastern fronts. After the end of World War II , Selge spent a year as a US prisoner of war .
From 1950 to 1954 Selge was an administrative lawyer at the DGB . From 1954 to 1958 he was a regional councilor in Düsseldorf for the Rhineland Regional Council. On February 12, 1958, he took over the office of Lord Mayor of Bremerhaven as the successor to Hermann Gullasch (SPD). Selge held this office for 20 years until September 30, 1978. He was followed by Werner Lenz (SPD) as mayor.
