Bodo Trotter
Bodo Traber (born 23. January 1965 in Pforzheim ) is a German writer , synchronous and radio play - director , film journalist and publisher .
Life
After studying film and television studies at the Free University of Berlin , Traber was the second film editor of the city newspaper Zitty ( Berlin ) from 1990 to 1993 . Since 1990 he has been working as a freelance screenwriter and dubbing writer or director for film and television. He is also a radio play author and director, u. a. for the WDR . Traber lives in Berlin.
Screenwriter
Traber has been working as a freelance screenwriter since 1995. From 2006 to 2010, he was a member of the writing team for the daily soap Gute Zeiten, Bad Zeiten , for which he wrote more than 50 episodes. Various of his projects have received funding.
Film journalist
Traber was and is also active as a film journalist and critic for various print and online magazines and daily newspapers . a. several years for Die Welt , Berliner Morgenpost and the Federal Agency for Political Education . He has been an editorial staff member since 1993 and has also been the publisher and editor-in-chief of the film magazine / online magazine Splatting Image since 2014 and made a name for himself as co-editor of two encyclopedias in the film genre series by Reclam Verlag . In addition, Traber has recorded numerous historical audio commentaries and video intros for DVD / Blu-ray releases. He is also the co-author of two adult education books .
Dubbing director and author
In the 1990s and early 2000s, Traber wrote German dialogue books for various feature films and television series , including the films Drugstore Cowboy by Gus Van Sant , Die Chinesin by Jean-Luc Godard and Ultra by Ricky Tognazzi, as well as the television series Picket Fences and Alone Against the Future . Since 2011 he has specialized in the synchronization of genre classics and old cult films.
Radio play director and author
Traber's radio plays mostly belong to the thriller , horror or science fiction genre. He was twice awarded the Kurd-Laßwitz-Preis for the best science fiction radio play of the year: 2009 for Die Flüsterer (with Tilman Zens ) and 2018 for Paradise Revisited and has been nominated several times. In 2018, the radio play jury of the Kurd-Laßwitz Prize named him “an author who has once again proven himself to be a master of realistic dialogue and whose work unmistakably breathes the spirit of Philip K. Dick ”.
