Bonanno: A Godfather's Story , also known as The Youngest Godfather ( DVD title) is a two-part television film from 1999 and tells the story of mobster Joseph Charles Bonanno, Sr. aka "Joe Bananas" during his rise in the ranks of America Cosa Nostra . It is a film adaptation of the two books "A Man of Honor: The Autobiography of Joseph Bonanno" by Bonanno, Sr. himself and "Bound By Honor: A Mafioso's Story" by the former Mafioso and son of Bonanno, Sr., Salvatore "Bill" Bonanno .

The aging Joe Bonanno tells his own story in retrospect. Fled to America to escape the fascist regime of Benito Mussolini , over time he rises in the hierarchy of the American Cosa Nostra to one of the most famous Mafia bosses in the country.
