Bosco received the Shakespeare Society of Washington DC Award for theater in 1957 . He made a name for himself as an actor in the American repertoire theater and through his participation in numerous plays by George Bernard Shaw . In 1961, 1984, 1987 and 1996 he was nominated for a Tony Award . In 1989 he won a Tony Award for his role as Saunders in the comedy Otello Must Not Be Burst (Lend Me a Tenor) by Ken Ludwig.
