Bong (TV show)
In the 1980s, like a springboard, Bong was a musical TV show on GDR television . Bong premiered on February 8, 1983 and ran 75 programs until July 1989.
The show with the presenter Jürgen Karney had replaced the Schlager studio of the GDR in the 1970s with the presenter Chris Wallasch and was a rating show on the GDR pop charts as a recorded live broadcast that was broadcast once a month on Thursdays in the GDR. Television was broadcast. Bong introduced five new titles in each show. After successful re-election by the audience, three more were taken over from the previous program by means of audience letters, whose winning title then received the Silver Bong .
In addition to Neumis Rock Circus , Maja Catrin Fritsche , Tina Daute , Inka Bause , Olaf Berger , Ralf Bursy , IC Falkenberg Mathias Lauschus and many others, foreign artists also performed with radio or Amiga productions, such as Hana & Dana , Lili Ivanova , Aniko , Judith Szücs and Miro Fabian.
Ten years after the first broadcast, the MDR showed nine "best-of" broadcasts under the title Bing Bong late on Monday evening. For the most part, clips from 1983 and 1984 were shown. In the following years the MDR also included a series of repetitions of complete editions in its afternoon program.
In 2003 a new edition of the MDR was planned, but it did not make it into production. Some of the guests in the first episode would have been the Puhdys and Yvonne Catterfeld .
In 2014, Bong returned to the stage with a big anniversary show. Jürgen Karney presented the best of his show for 5 hours. There were Karat , Muck , Petra Zieger & Band, H&N , Wolfgang Ziegler , Beppo Küster , Olaf Berger , Wolfgang Lippert , Michael Barakowski and others. a. A tour planned for 2014 failed.
