history

Brüddewarden is a mound endorf and now part of Waddens . Brüddewarden was first mentioned in 1565. The Brüddewarden peasantry includes Waddenser / Brüddewarder Wisch, Oegens, Eiland, Waddenser Mitteldeich and Waddenserdeich. In Oegens a losing battle between the place in 1499 , Count de John V of Oldenburg and Butjadingern and their allied Friesen from the Wursten instead. The Butjadingers and their allies lost around 250 people.
