Stollhammerwisch belonged to the property of the Johanniter coming Inte . This property was confiscated by Count Anton I of Oldenburg during the Reformation in 1531. The Johanniterkommende was founded in the first half of the 14th century and resulted in the settlement of residents who practiced subsistence farming. Burstohl

Burstohl (bur = peasantry, neighborhood; stohl = court, here meeting place) refers to a small farm that was located in Stollhammerwisch. In contrast to other farmers such as Iffens , Ahndeich or Stollhamm , Stollhammerwisch did not consist of a core village with adjoining scattered settlements. Rather, it was a farming community with many small and a few large farms scattered around. At Wischweg 2 there was a 4 hectare farm called “Burstohl”. The name Burstohl indicates the location of a rural self-government in the Stollhamm Bailiwick , similar to the neighboring bailiwicks of Stadland and Butjadingens . In this place general affairs of the peasantry were settled and disputes settled. Drinking beer together served to preserve social peace in the peasantry. Until the middle of the 20th century, the farm served as a shop and a jug .
