The Soviet submarines Project 690 ( NATO code Bravo class ) were built in the USSR between 1960 and 1970. They had been specially developed for the requirements of a submarine for training in submarine combat, but could also be used in combat to a limited extent. They were built so that they could also serve as targets for training torpedoes . All units in this class have been decommissioned since 1995.

One was demilitarized and sold in 1994. It has been converted into a restaurant by the new owners .
