Brian Fortuna
Brian Fortuna (born September 20, 1982 ) is an American dancer, choreographer and instructor.
Life
Brian Fortuna is an artistic all-rounder. He currently stars in the theater production Over the Rainbow as Danny Cassidy. He recently finished filming the short film Love + 1, starring Alison Carroll and Andy Barnes.
In 2010 Fortuna was a solo dancer in the renowned dance show Burn the Floor at Shaftesbury Theater in London's West End . In 2011, his appearances earned him the nomination for the What's On Stage Award (theater visitor award ) for best newcomer .
He was the lead choreographer and consulting producer for the dance show Dancing on Wheels . This show premiered on BBC3 in February 2010 and was produced by Fever Media . Couples of disabled and non-disabled participants show how to learn the art of dance sport in standard and latin . The show had the highest premiere ratings for a documentary in BBC history.
In 2008 Fortuna received an invitation to the Strictly Come Dancing competition , where he competed with M People and Heather Small and achieved a respectable 8th place. In season 7 in 2009, Fortuna danced with former Hollyoaks and The Bill actress Ali Bastian. The couple qualified for the semifinals and received full marks for their American Smooth and Viennese Waltz , the highest score for a Viennese waltz in the history of this competition. The show is also known as Strictly , as the original format that served as the model for the globally successful show Dancing with the Stars .
Fortuna took part in the 4th season of Dancing with the Stars as the dance partner of the former Miss USA, Shandi Finnessey . His television success enabled him to dance as a solo dancer in the next two national Dancing with the Stars tours. Fortuna had a double role on the tour and was chosen to host a third DWTS tour to a sold out house (of 15,000 people per night). His talents as host of the show caught the attention of ABC , which Brian selected as series co-host with Dancing with the Stars partner Shandi for ABC's Dancing with the Stars online encore.
Fortuna is a nationally known and sought-after teacher and performer. His other talents include a finalist in National Standard and Latin Ten Dance ; Choreographer and trainer for the award-winning salsa team Ritmo Latino ; Performer with musical sensitivity; one of the best of the North American Amateur Latin Championships in 2003, and a top instructor. Fortuna practices wheelchair dancing and he is a teacher and performer for the United States Wheelchair Dancing Association , founded by his mother, Sandra Fortuna. In 2004 he did the choreography for a very successful commercial for the Bank of Madrid in Spain, which presented wheelchair dance.
Fortuna can be seen as a dancer in the Oscar -winning film Aviator with Leonardo DiCaprio , in the TV series South Beach with Vanessa Williams and in the lead role in the Canadian documentary Live to Dance .

Dancing with the Stars
Fortuna participated in the fourth season of Dancing with the Stars (US season 4) of the ABC , the American version of the British Strictly Come Dancing , with the celebrity partner Shandi Finnessey, a former Miss Universe participant.

Christmas 2008, Fortuna was a couple with Kelly Brook . They danced the jive to Rockin 'Around The Christmas Tree and scored 39 out of 40. You were one of the four couples with the same number of points, and based on the judges' evaluation of the couples, you were in fourth place. When the points from the audience rating were added to the jury's rating, they came in second after Jill Halfpenny and Darren Bennett.
They were excluded in the semifinals on December 12, 2009 after a public vote, despite having received a perfect 50 points from the five jurors.

On November 7th, 2009 Fortuna and Ali Bastians achieved a perfect score of 40 in the Viennese Waltz. This was the highest score for a Viennese waltz in the history of Strictly Come Dancing .
On November 28, 2009, Fortuna's and Ali Bastian's performance in the Wiener Walzer group earned them another perfect rating from the jury.
On June 9, 2010, it was announced that Fortuna had decided not to return for season 8 due to a format change from Strictly Come Dancing .

Dancing on Wheels (Show)
On May 28, 2009, the BBC published a press release on their upcoming show, Dancing on Wheels, based on the April 2007 documentary of the same name. With Brian Fortuna as choreographer, this project was intended to promote wheelchair dance .
As with Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing with the Stars , participants were given intensive training and the chance to represent the UK at the European Wheelchair Dance Championships in Israel in autumn 2009. The show began broadcasting on BBC3 on February 11, 2010.
Also on this show was Fortuna's celebrity partner M People 's Heather Small from Strictly Come Dancing Season 6, as well as Olympic swimmer Mark Foster , actress Michelle Gayle , actor Kevin Sacre, rugby player Martin Offiah, and show host Caroline Flack.
Dancing on Wheels was produced by Fever Media .

The BBC One documentary Dancing on Wheels (aired in England on BBC1 April 17, 2007 at 10:35 p.m.) accompanied some of the championship teams, including the Inverclyders and Concorde wheelchair dancers, to explore some of the reasons Brits love wheelchair dancing .

In 2004 and 2005 Fortuna won the North American Top Teacher Competition. He is a certified juror for the US Terpischore Association .
