Brigitte Gutmann

Brigitte Gabriele Gutmann , née Brigitte Gabriele Kern (born April 19, 1946 in Karlsruhe ) is a German educator and writer .

Life

She studied at the University of Education in Karlsruhe education with the subjects German and music for secondary schools . First she worked as a teacher in Hardheim in the Odenwald and later for a long time in Karlsruhe. 1979 marriage to Peter Gutmann. Acquisition of a house in Kappelrodeck. From 1980 to 1985 she lived in Cairo because Peter Gutmann took up a position as a foreign teacher at the German Evangelical High School . During this time her two sons were born (1980 and 1983). Since 1988 she has been working as a teacher again, from 1989 to 2007 in Kappelrodeck , where her husband was deputy principal for ten years until 2006 .

She has been a writer since 1973, and her first publications were in newspapers and magazines. In 1979 a feature section about the Karlsruhe writer Heinrich Vierordt was published with the title Schattentanz und Puppenspiel , which was recorded in the Karlsruhe studio and broadcast on the radio. The radio play Puzzlespiel or Hechts are visited was broadcast by Südwestfunk in Baden-Baden in 1980 . In 1985 Gutmann wrote a libretto for the fairy tale opera The Fairy Tale of the False Prince based on Wilhelm Hauff , the music was composed by Wolfgang Biersack. In 1990 she published her first book Under the Sun of Amun and Allah with Egyptian poems and photographs by her husband Peter.

Brigitte Gutmann was a member of the Steinbach Ensemble and the Free German Association of Authors . She gives readings , including staged readings, in bookshops, at the Leipzig Book Fair , in social institutions and within the Ortenau- Elsass author network , which was founded in 2013 by Dr. Karin Jäckel was founded. She regularly takes part in the literary café in Baden-Baden. From 1999 to 2009 Gutmann directed the literary-musical matinée in Achern . She also works as a freelancer for regional newspapers.

Awards:

  • 1980 in the preliminary decision for the BW-Kleinkunstpreis in the Karlsruhe area, 1st prize in the word division.
  • 1998 5th place in each of the categories of poetry and prose in the FDA literature competition.
  • 2014 3rd place in the Conrad Winter Prize at the 10th SUMMERLIED FESTIVAL in Ohlungen / Alsace.
  • 2014 Participation in the short story competition LEADER Middle Black Forest, where the short story "A childhood at the feet of the Hornisgrinde" was chosen among the ten best.
