Brooke Stratton (born July 12, 1993 in Box Hill ) is an Australian long jumper and Oceania record holder with 7.05 m.
Athletic career
Brooke Stratton gained her first international experience at the Youth World Championships 2009 in Brixen , where she finished tenth in the final with 5.86 m. At the Oceanic Youth Championships 2010 in Sydney she won the silver medal in the triple jump. At the Junior World Championships in Moncton , Canada , she was sixth. Two years later, she finished seventh at the Junior World Championships in Barcelona with 6.42 m. In 2015 she qualified for the World Championships in Beijing , where she qualified with 6.64 m . Her personal best is 7.05 m, which she achieved at the Perth Track Classic 2016, beating Bronwyn Thompson's 14-year Australian record . A few days later she took part in the World Indoor Championships in Portland , where she was fifth. At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro that year she came in seventh place .
At the 2017 World Championships in London , she came in sixth place with 6.67 m in the final . The following year, she won the Commonwealth Games in her native Gold Coast with 6.77 m, the silver medal behind the Canadian Christabel Nettey .
In 2014 as well as in 2016 and 2018, Stratton became the Australian champion in the long jump. She graduated from Deakin University with a degree in health sciences .
