description
The beech forest consists of a small beech forest parcel . What is striking is the high density of game, which prevents the herbaceous and shrub layers from developing. The herb layer is typical of acidic beech forests with white grove and maidenhair moss .
Protection purpose
The development goal here is the preservation and optimization of the area, a biotope type that is endangered in North Rhine-Westphalia and rare in nature, the preservation and optimization of a near-natural beech stand as a relic of the potential natural forest community and the biotope network , also called stepping stone biotope.
