The nature reserve Klüserbachtal and Schwarzbachtal is located in the area of ​​the city of Monschau , west of Kalterherberg . The Schwarzbach, like the Klüserbach near Ruitshof, which flows into it, is a brook on the border with Belgium .

Protection purpose

The habitats for many plants, fungi and animals in NRW that are endangered according to the Red List are to be protected .

The objectives are the conservation and development of the following natural habitats in accordance with Annex I of the Habitats Directive:

• Dry heathland

The area is of particular importance for the following plants and animals:

• kingfisher
• Black woodpecker
• Gray woodpecker
• Yellow daffodil
• Legbreaker
• Bullhead

These biotope types to be protected can be found in this area: wet and humid grassland, natural and near-natural waters, near-natural and undeveloped stream sections, poor meadows , moors, swamps , swamp and swamp forests , dwarf shrub, gorse and juniper heath .
