Planned route of the west bypass

The west bypass to Rosenheim is an 11.5 kilometer bypass road for Rosenheim that is partly in operation and partly still under construction . It should relieve the Rosenheim city center from long-distance traffic in the north-south direction. Since the beginning of 2005 the truck toll was introduced on federal motorways , this traffic has increased again. It is also known as Bundesstraße 15a . In the planning phase, the term West Bypass Rosenheim and the designation as Bundesstraße 15 were also common. Completion is scheduled for 2022 Template: future / in 2 years.

Course, junctions

Northern part (under construction)

The planned route branches off from the north at Wieden in the town of sheikhs from the national road 15 from. The previous connections in Wieden and Pfaffenhofen are no longer available. Both villages are connected by a bridge structure. The two-lane west bypass then first crosses the Rosenheim – Mühldorf railway line and then continues between Großkarolinenfeld and northern Rosenheim . The first junction will connect the west bypass with the existing state road 2080 , which will later be continued as the north bypass coming from the direction of Ebersberg . This junction connects the villages of Pfaffenhofen , Großkarolinenfeld and some northern districts of Rosenheim to the new road.

Only a few hundred meters further, the road crosses another railway line, this time the double-track main line from Munich to Rosenheim . Shortly afterwards, in a wooded area between Großkarolinenfeld and the Westerndorf St. Peter district , the second junction is to be built. There the B 15 connects to the RO 19 district road and directs traffic from Bad Aibling , Großkarolinenfeld and the Westerndorf St. Peter district to the new bypass. The existing railway bridge over RO 19 (Schlößlstrasse) is to be renewed at the request of DB Netz AG. In this context, the city of Rosenheim calls for an increase in the clear height from currently 3.50 m to 4.50 m and the clear width from currently 5.00 m to 11.50 m.

From there it runs four kilometers through the western Keferwald and past Fürstätt . A large bridge is planned over the Rosenheim – Holzkirchen railway line , the Aicherpark industrial park , the Mangfall Canal and the Mangfall . Another connecting ramp is to be built on this bridge, which will connect the western bypass with Georg-Aicher-Straße. This connection takes traffic from the Aicherpark, the northern part of the city of Kolbermoor and the western parts of the city of Rosenheim .

Southern part (in operation)

A few meters south of the planned large bridge, the junction on State Road 2078, which is currently not fully operational, was built. The connection, which is about 700 meters from the Aicherpark connection, is located exactly between the Mitterhart district of Kolbermoor and the Schwaig district of Rosenheim . The connection to the southern districts of Rosenheim (Aising / Pang ) and Kolbermoor is thus guaranteed. Via the so-called Schwaiger roundabout , the traffic from the new Panorama-Schwaig relief road quickly comes to the new west bypass.

The road continues through the Kalten nature reserve before it joins the A 8 (Munich – Salzburg) south of Westerndorf bei Pang . For this purpose, a new junction " Rosenheim- West" (100b) was built about two kilometers west of the Inntal motorway triangle . The section has been in operation since October 12, 2015.

costs

In the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan 2003, the construction costs were estimated at 61.3 million euros. Of this, around 11.8 million euros will go to the large bridge over the Aicherpark. In 2010, 63 million euros were expected, which were then corrected to over 74 million euros as of February 2015, greater than 100 million euros. In July 2015, construction approval with a financial volume of 85 million euros was granted for construction phases two to four. In the draft bill of the BVWP 2030, the costs are estimated at 78.9 million euros.

Between 2009 and August 1, 2017, the costs for the first section of the Federal Motorway 8 to State Road 2078 rose by 51 percent from 20.3 million euros (budget adjustment) to 30.7 million euros (costs of the road construction plan).

Construction progress

Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan 2003 : The 11.3 km long section is urgently needed here . The ground-breaking ceremony for the first construction phase (section between St 2078 and A 8) was on August 27, 2012 and the opening on October 12, 2015. The state and federal authorities have confirmed in writing that the remaining construction phases will be financed. The start of the second construction phase is planned for 2016. Building bridges over the Aicherpark industrial park is a complex task. This work is expected to be completed in 2020. On July 20, 2015, Bavaria's Minister of the Interior, Joachim Herrmann, informed about the building clearance for the construction of the 600 m long “Aicherparkbrücke” and the northern sections to bypass Pfaffenhofen.

Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan 2030 (until March 2016 Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan 2015 called): From the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, for construction and transport the Westtangente Rosenheim as a subproject for Project 2 "B 15 was 304 B ( Wasserburg -) A 8 registered (Rosenheim)". According to the cabinet decision of January 19, 2015, the expansion of Rosenheim's western bypass is maintained. In the first ministerial draft, the new building was included as a two-lane route with the project number B15-IP10-BY-IP in the category of ongoing and fixed projects (FD). The main project B015n Landshut (A 92) - Rosenheim (A 8) (B015-G999-BY) - which concerns the construction of a federal highway 15n - leads to the west bypass Rosenheim (B 15).

The publication of the draft bill was followed by a six-week public participation. After evaluating the comments received, a revised cabinet draft was available. After the departmental coordination at the end of July 2016, the federal cabinet approved the plan on August 3, 2016.

complain

The construction project has been halted a number of times as many lawsuits have been filed. These often came from residents who fear traffic noise and their property and its depreciation. The Federal Nature Conservation Association sued the route because a moorland was being drained for it. These lawsuits were dismissed in 2005 and the construction project was classified as urgent. On September 30, 2009, all remaining lawsuits were dismissed by the Bavarian Administrative Court.
