Pang is a district of the independent city of Rosenheim in Upper Bavaria .

history

Pang was first mentioned in a document in 752 under the name "Painga". The name is probably derived from a Bavarian clan leader named Pao . On August 8, 752, the noble Chuniperht donated ten farms and their residents to the Isen monastery. The village remained under the rule of the noble von Pang for centuries, who at least had family ties to Nussdorf am Inn, as the coats of arms of both places are very similar.

After the family died out, Hofmark Pang came into the possession of the Waldecker around 1400. In 1483 in the hands of the Gumpenberg family and in 1497 to the Seipoltsdorfer. In 1649 the Counts of Lamberg from Amerang and thus from 1822 the barons of Crailsheim took over the Hofmark. In 1848 the court marks and the patrimonial court were repealed. From then on, the municipality of Pang belonged to the district office, later to the Rosenheim district office.

Until it was incorporated into the city of Rosenheim on May 1, 1978 as part of the regional reform , Pang was an independent municipality. With this incorporation, Pang lost almost two thirds of its area (but not a significant proportion of the population) to the enlarged municipality of Raubling. Today, Pang is home to around 3,600 people.

coat of arms

The coat of arms comes from the seal of Heinricus de Paeng. In addition, the Wasen was reproduced as a piece of lawn.
