The A 8 at the Inntal triangle, 2009 |
The motorway junction Inntal (abbreviation: AD Inn Valley ; Shortcut: Inntal or Inntaldreieck ) is a highway junction in the district of Rosenheim in Bavaria . The federal highway 93 (direction Kufstein ) is connected to the federal highway 8 (direction Munich / Salzburg ). At the same time, it represents the beginning and the end of the southern part of the A 93. In addition, three European roads will be unbundled at the motorway triangle . The Europastraße 52 runs along the A 8, while the Europastraße 45 changes from the A 93 to the A 8 in the direction of Munich. The Europastraße 60 , which also runs along the A 93 , changes to the A 8 towards Salzburg at the Inntal triangle.
Location and history
The motorway triangle is located on the border between the independent city of Rosenheim and the municipality of Raubling in the district of Rosenheim. Surrounding places are Westerndorf , Grünthal and Pfraundorf . A low-level road crosses eastern parts of the motorway triangle. The Gittersbach is also bridged there. The eponymous river Inn is crossed two kilometers further east by the A8.
Plans called for the A 93 from the Inntal motorway triangle to pass Rosenheim as an alternative route to the A 8 to the federal motorway 99 (Munich motorway ring). Then the A 93 would have been rededicated as the A 9 and the Inntal triangle would have been expanded into a motorway junction. In the 1970s there were other plans to connect the northern part of the A 93 ( Dreieck Hochfranken - Autobahn triangle Holledau ) with the southern part; these were discarded.
