The castle Berlichingen , and castle Berlichingen called, was a water castle , later Castle in the district Berlichingen the community Schöntal in Hohenlohe in Baden-Wuerttemberg .

The Berlichingen moated castle, probably built in the 13th century, was a tower-like three-story stone house. It was the ancestral castle of the Lords of Berlichingen , from 1292 a Hohenlohe and from 1347 a Würzburg fiefdom . Presumably Götz von Berlichingen was born here around 1480 . The castle was first mentioned in the 17th century and is now privately owned.
