The Eselsburg even castle Old fork called, is a Outbound Spur castle on the "fork", a 460 m above sea level. NN high mountain spur above the Michelbachtal near the village of Michelbach am Wald (municipality of Öhringen ) in Hohenlohekreis in Baden-Wuerttemberg .
The castle, whose origin and owner is unknown, presumably served as a guard station with a watchtower over the Michelbach valley. The Burgstall shows an approximately five by five meter square depression, which indicates a building foundation, lots of mortar remains, brick fragments and hewn foundation stones. Remnants of burned "folds" (clay and straw filling between the beams in half-timbered houses) point to a burned - down half-timbered building, as in Altgabelstein Castle .
