The Zarge ruin , also known as the old Zarge , is the ruin of a hilltop castle at 245  m above sea level. NN above the Kocher valley on the lower spur of the Zargenberg near the Nagelsberg district (Zur Zarge) in the city of Künzelsau in the Hohenlohe district in Baden-Württemberg .

The castle was probably built in the 11th century, is said to have been the seat of the legendary Mechthild vom Stein around 1090 and was already in ruins in the 14th century.

The castle was a medium-sized complex on a castle area of ​​around 550 square meters. The ruin still shows the shield wall uphill , the beam supports of which point to a wooden building attached to the wall.
