Rossach Castle

Castle Rossach is a noble residence in the municipality Schoental belonging hamlet Rossach. It was built by the Lords of Rossach in the 12th century and later inhabited by the Lords of Berlichingen-Rossach. In the Thirty Years' War it was partially destroyed, only a part of the main house was preserved, otherwise the remains of surrounding walls and towers.

Today it is a manor complex with several half-timbered buildings . The mansion on a stone base is two-storey with a half- hip roof . The inscription in the gatehouse reads: “Anno domi 1540 do Hot, the noble un ernvest Gotfridt vo Berlichen dis house built”. It relates to Götz von Berlichingen. The lady of the castle is now Alexandra von Berlichingen .
