The Burggymnasium (spelling: BurgGymnasium ), founded in 1875 as the municipal school for girls, is now a co-educational state high school in Kaiserslautern .

history

The municipal girls 'school appeared in the files from 1902 as a higher female educational institution (HWB), only to become the general higher girls' school under this name in 1910 . From 1927 the Realgymnasium was expanded, and in 1930 the first class passed the Abitur. In 1966 the higher female educational institution became a state high school on Burgstrasse , and in 1970 it became co-educational . On November 3, 2000, on the occasion of the 125th anniversary celebration, the school was given the current name BurgGymnasium , which is derived from the immediate location on the ruins of the Barbarossaburg . The BurgGymnasium has been the sponsor of the Eselsbach Valley since April 20, 1994 .
