Florian Fromlowitz (born July 2, 1986 in Kaiserslautern ) is a German soccer goalkeeper and current soccer coach .

Career

society

Fromlowitz comes from the youth department of 1. FC Kaiserslautern , where he played from 1992. Already in the C-youth he was trained by the former Bundesliga keeper Gerry Ehrmann . For the 2004/05 season he received his first professional contract, but initially only played in the Regionalliga West with the second team from Kaiserslautern. He had his first Bundesliga appearance at the game against 1. FSV Mainz 05 on February 25, 2006 after the goalkeeper Jürgen Macho had to retire due to injury. At the end of the season Fromlowitz rose with the team in the 2nd Bundesliga . For the 2007/08 season he was the goalkeeper of 1. FC Kaiserslautern, although his competitor Jürgen Macho had played all 34 league games in the previous season and was voted Lauterer Player of the Year. In the league game against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on October 19, 2007, Fromlowitz suffered a cruciate ligament rupture without outside interference, which resulted in a longer injury break.

On April 2, 2008 he signed a three-year contract with Hannover 96 , which came into force at the beginning of the 2008/09 season. During long break from injury of the goalkeeper Robert Enke Fromlowitz came in autumn 2008 and in September / October 2009 to a number of Bundesliga appearances. After Enke's death, whom he described as a friend and role model, he became a regular goalkeeper at Hannover 96. At the beginning of the second half of the 2010/11 season he lost his regular place to Ron-Robert Zieler , he was adopted on May 14, 2011 at the last home game the season.

In the summer of 2011, MSV Duisburg signed Fromlowitz. A regular place at the second division seemed to be certain because David Yelldell , the previous No. 1 goal, moved to Bayer 04 Leverkusen in July . In November 2011, however, coach Oliver Reck put him on the bench in favor of Felix Wiedwald . Fromlowitz then stated that he was mentally unable to watch the game on the bench and be in the arena. He later explained this statement with a private stroke of fate; the miscarriage of his child. Fromlowitz apologized for his "wrongdoing" but was fined. Until the end of the season he could not fight back the place in goal.

Fromlowitz moved to Dynamo Dresden for the 2012/13 season . He was substitute goalkeeper behind Benjamin Kirsten and played once in the league against Hertha BSC and in the DFB Cup against his former club Hannover 96. For the next season he was demoted to the third goalkeeper behind Kirsten and Markus Scholz . In September 2013 he was three times in the goal of the second team in the Oberliga Nordost-Süd .

In April 2014 he moved to SV Wehen Wiesbaden on a free transfer . He described his move to the third division as a new beginning. But even in Wiesbaden he only had a place on the bench behind Markus Kolke in the league . Surprisingly, however, he was allowed to play in the DFB Cup against his ex-club Kaiserslautern (3: 5 n.E.).

After his contract with SVWW expired, Fromlowitz moved to the Regionalliga Südwest for FC 08 Homburg in September 2015 . Fromlowitz was initially a regular goalkeeper in Jens Kiefer's squad . At the end of 2015, he had to undergo surgery on the external meniscus , which resulted in complications. That is why it was no longer used in the 2016/17 season . In May 2017, Fromlowitz announced that he was ending his career because of the problems. From the 2017/18 season he was a trainer at the A-class team SSC Landstuhl. After a season as a player -coach, he switched to the goalkeeping coach in July 2018 at SV Steinwendi.

National team

Fromlowitz completed 42 international matches for German junior national teams. From the U16 to the U18 national team, he was the first goalkeeper, after which he had to hand over this role to Manuel Neuer . At the U21 European Championship in Sweden in 2009 , he was able to win the title with Tobias Sippel , another Ehrmann student and also reserve keeper in the DFB squad, as another substitute goalkeeper behind the new player who completed all games.

Private

Fromlowitz left school after the 10th grade and did an apprenticeship as an office clerk, which he broke off in order to concentrate fully on his sporting career. Fromlowitz is married to Helene, whom he met during his ticket management training, which he later discontinued, and has a son (* 2012) and two other children with her. After the end of his sporting career in May 2017, he aimed for training, which he completed as a sports and fitness clerk.
