The Postal Gleißenthal is an Outbound Motte (motte) in Gleißenthal , now a district of the town Windischeschenbach in the Upper Palatinate Neustadt an der Waldnaab in Bavaria . Only sparse historical or archaeological information is known about this Niederungsburg . It is listed in the BayernAtlas under monument number D-3-6138-0042 as a medieval castle stable.
The facility was located in a flat area on a flat ridge. In 1907 there were still traces of a ditch that had completely disappeared in 1954. Gleißenthal is mentioned for the first time as early as 1152, the lords of Gleißenthal are known from the middle of the 13th century. The system was referred to as " purkstall " as early as 1405 .
