CJ Sanders

CJ Sanders (born September 18, 1996 ) is a retired American child actor . He achieved his first international fame in 2004 through his role as the young Ray Robinson in the film Ray , for which he was nominated several times for various film awards. His father is the former wide receiver Chris Sanders , who was among other things a substitute player at Super Bowl XXXIV and is now active as a football coach. His stepfather, Corey Harris, is also a former long-time NFL player .

Life

CJ Sanders was born in 1996 to the aspiring wide receiver Chris Sanders , who made it into the NFL the previous year via the 1995 NFL Draft , and his partner Stacie Harris. CJ Sanders, who grew up in and around Nashville , Tennessee , began his acting career at the age of about eight when he was cast in the role of Ray Charles , whom he would play in Ray as a child . He had a big part in the multi -Oscar nominee and award-winning feature film by Taylor Hackford and was nominated for various film awards in the following year. The nominations include a Black Reel Award in the “Best Breakthrough Performance” category, an Image Award in the “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture” category, and a Young Artist Award at the 2005 award in the “Best Performance” category in a Feature Film - Supporting Young Actor ". This role also brought the young actor's international breakthrough; in the following years he was engaged for a number of well-known productions.

2005 followed appearances in each episode of Amy , Cold Case - No Victim Is Ever Forgotten and Grey's Anatomy , as well as a supporting role in eight different episodes of the three Golden Globes awarded series Six Feet Under - Will always die . In Six Feet Under, he played the adopted son of the gay couple David Fisher (played by Michael C. Hall ) and Keith Charles ( Mathew St. Patrick ). From that time on he attended Brentwood Academy , a private preparatory school for a later college career. In 2011 there was the first clash in an official football game between father and son, with CJ Sanders as a player at the Brentwood Academy and Chris Sanders as the coach of the football team at Montgomery Bell Academy . The former child star is also active for the track and field team at his school. In this he even holds the current school record set in 2013 in the 100-meter run, where he holds a time of 10.64 seconds. He also celebrated further successes in the football team, for example in 2013 the election to the "Division II-AA East-Middle Region Offensive MVP". Since 2015, the Notre Dame High School graduate has been attending the University of Notre Dame , where he is also a member of the men's football team of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish sports division .
