The parliamentary group chairman conference (FVK) of the CDU / CSU parliamentary groups in the federal states, the federal government and the European Parliament is a body for the self-coordination of the Union parliamentary groups . The conference is composed of the chairmen of the Union parliamentary groups of the state parliaments , the Bundestag and the European Parliament . Since May 2013, the CDU parliamentary group leader in the Thuringian state parliament, Mike Mohring, has been the chairman; his deputy has been the CSU parliamentary group chairman in the Bavarian state parliament Thomas Kreuzer since April 2014 .

history

The first meeting of the parliamentary group chairmen's conference took place in 1956 in Düsseldorf. Here it was also decided that the group chairmen, their deputies and the managing directors should meet at regular intervals. In 1973 in Goslar, the parliamentary group chairmen's conference elected a permanent representative for the first time.

Big conference of group leaders

For the large parliamentary group chairman conference, all CDU / CSU parliamentary groups (parliamentary group chairmen and their deputies as well as parliamentary managers and parliamentary group managers) meet once a year in a federal state for up to two days. The content of these meetings are joint, cross-federal state initiatives and proposals that can affect all areas of politics.
