Caetano Ferrari OFM (born July 30, 1942 in Pirajuí , Brazil ) is a Brazilian religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Bauru .

Life

Caetano Ferrari joined the Order of the Franciscans (OFM) , made his profession on November 14, 1969 and was ordained a priest on December 27, 1970 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him coadjutor bishop of Franca on April 24, 2002 . He was ordained bishop on July 7th of the same year by the Archbishop of São Paulo , Cláudio Cardinal Hummes OFM; Co- consecrators were Arnaldo Ribeiro , Archbishop of Ribeirão Preto , and Diógenes da Silva Matthes , Bishop of Franca. He chose EVANGELIZARE OMNI CREATURÆ as the motto .

With Diógenes da Silva Matthes' retirement on September 7, 2006, he succeeded him as Bishop of Franca. Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on April 15, 2009 Bishop of Bauru .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on March 28, 2018.
