Caitlin Gregg grew up in New York City for the first few years of her life . When she was nine, she moved with her family to Warren , Vermont, and attended college in Marquette , Michigan . She started her career in 2001 as a cross-country skier in the North America Cup. In her third race, a 10-kilometer race, she achieved a top ten position in seventh place. Despite several good results, Gregg did not make the jump into the cross-country world cup. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2007 in Liberec , she finished 60th over 10 km freestyle and 14th place with the relay. That is why she switched to biathlon in 2007. In addition, she continued to compete on a national level in cross-country skiing and won the title of US champion over 5 kilometers in 2008 and repeated this success in Anchorage in 2009 . Gregg made her debut in the European Biathlon Cup in 2008 in Langdorf . In the individual, she finished 33rd. After only four races in the European Cup, she started her first biathlon world championships in 2008 . The best result was a surprisingly good 37th place in the individual. Shortly afterwards, in Pyeongchang , she made her debut in the biathlon world cup as 60th in the sprint . After the 2007/08 season she switched back to cross-country skiing. In January 2009 she ran her first cross-country World Cup race in Whistler , which she finished in 32nd place in the 15 km pursuit. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec in 2009 she was 59th of the 15 km pursuit and as the final runner with Kikkan Randall , Morgan Arritola and Elizabeth Stephen 14th in the 4x5 km relay. She got her first World Cup points in February 2010 in Canmore with the 14th place over 10 km freestyle. This is also her best result in a World Cup race so far. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , she came 42nd in the 15 km pursuit, 30th place over 10 km freestyle and 11th place with the relay. In 2011, 2013 and 2014 she won the American Birkebeiner . At the 2015 Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun , she won bronze in the 10 km freestyle.
In the US Super Tour , in which she has participated since 2006, she has so far reached 35 podiums and 19 victories and won the overall standings in 2007 and 2014. (As of March 24, 2015)
