Cambria Heights is a middle-class residential area in the New York borough of Queens . It is bounded by Elmont in Nassau County to the east, Queens Village to the north, St. Albans to the west, and Montefiore Cemetery , Laurelton , Springfield Gardens and Rosedale to the south. In 2010 Cambria Heights had 18,667 residents. The neighborhood belongs to Queens Community Board 13 .

At 15 meters above sea level, Cambrian Heights is one of the highest points in Queens, along with Jackson Heights and Richmond Hill .

The population originally consisted of Catholics of Italian , German, and Irish descent, as well as Jewish families from Brooklyn . The population of the district today belongs to a large part of a middle class with Caribbean and Afro-American origins. The median home price is $ 450,600.

There are two public elementary schools in Cambria Heights, PS 176 and PS 147, the latter bears the name of astronaut Ronald McNair . The Andrew Jackson High School campus offers four specialized branches of education, arts and humanities, software applications, math, science and technology, and law, administration and community services.

The population per neighborhood covers an area of ​​772.01 acres (312.42  hectares ) and the neighborhood has a population density of 24.2 people per acre, or approximately 15,500 per square mile or 6,000 per square kilometer.

Of the population, 1.4% (259) were white , 90.3% (16,862) African American, 0.2% (42) Native American, 0.8% (157) Asian, 0.0% (6) Pacific Islanders, 0.3% (62) from other breeds and 1.7% (325) from two or more breeds. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.2% (964) of the population.
