Cameron Jordan Johnson (born March 3, 1996 ) is an American basketball player .

career

After leaving Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School in Coraopolis , Pennsylvania , Johnson moved to the University of Pittsburgh in 2014 . In the 2014/15 season he played eight games before he was canceled due to a shoulder injury. Johnson was a member of the Pittsburgh college team until 2017 and recorded an average of 8 points and 3 rebounds in 73 games. In 2017, he moved  to the University of North Carolina within the Atlantic Coast Conference , after Pittsburgh initially insisted that Johnson had to sit out for a season after the change of university, but ultimately gave the approval.

For North Carolina, he was on the field in 62 games between 2017 and 2019 and made a major development step, especially in the 2018/19 game year, when he averaged 16.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game and hit 96 of his 210 three-point throws, which corresponded to a success rate of a strong 45.7 percent.

In June 2019, the Minnesota Timberwolves secured the rights to Johnson in the NBA draft , but gave them to the Phoenix Suns  .
