The Capachica district is located in the Puno Province in the Puno region in southern Peru . The district has an area of ​​117.06 km². The 2017 census counted 7,540 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 11,435, in 2007 11,387. The administrative seat of the district is the 3860  m high village of Capachica with 944 inhabitants (as of 2017).

Geographical location

The district of Capachica is located on the Capachica peninsula in the west of Lake Titicaca in the north of the province of Puno.

The district of Capachica borders in the northwest on the districts of Coata and Pusi ( province of Huancané ).
