Carles Planas Antolínez (born March 4, 1991 in Sant Celoni ) is a Spanish football player . The left full-back has been playing for FC Girona since 2017 .

Career

Planas has been enjoying the youth education of FC Barcelona since he was ten. From then on he went through the various youth teams of FC Barcelona. From 2008 to 2010 Planas played for the A-youth of Barcelona and became champions with them in 2009. During this time he was also used three times in the B team, which rose to the Segunda División at the end of the 2009/10 season . Even though Planas often struggles with injuries, he has been one of the key players in Barcelona B since the 2010/11 season. In August 2010, the then 19-year-old extended his contract with Barcelona until 2012. On November 28, 2012, Planas made his debut in the first team when he was substituted on in the Copa del Rey in the fourth round second leg against Deportivo Alavés .

National team

In 2008, Planas was European champion with the Spanish U-17 national team at the tournament in Turkey . Here he was in the starting line-up for three games; he missed the other two games due to an injury.

With the Spanish U-19 national team, he took part in the U-19 European Championship in 2010 . In the first group game against Croatia (2: 1) he prepared the equalizer through Thiago . He finally reached the final with his country, where the host nation France lost 2-1. Planas and his Barça team-mate Marc Bartra were the only players in this tournament to play all five games of Spain over the full game.
