Carter Proft (born August 30, 1994 in Spruce Grove , Alberta ) is a German - Canadian ice hockey player who is currently under contract with the Löwen Frankfurt .

Career

The left winger played in the youth division for the Knights of Columbus Pats and the St. Albert Raiders, both of whom compete in the Alberta AAA Midget Hockey League (AMHL).

After three years in the WHL junior league (he played first for the Brandon Wheat Kings and then for the Spokane Chiefs ), he signed his first contract as a professional player in 2014 with the Kassel Huskies in Germany's second division. In the 2015/16 season he won the DEL2 championship title with the Huskies . He then accepted a contract offer from Adler Mannheim from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL), but continued to play for Kassel with a funding license. In August 2017, the contract between the Adler and Proft was canceled. On September 12, 2017, he received a six-week trial contract with Grizzlys Wolfsburg and ultimately stayed until just before Christmas 2017, when he was signed by the DEL2 club Ravensburg Towerstars . In August 2018 Proft was signed by the Löwen Frankfurt.

Personal

His father Parie Proft was also a professional ice hockey player and played in the 1980s and 1990s for VEU Feldkirch in Austria, the former German first division club Starbulls Rosenheim and for Duisburger SV, EHC Trier and the Crocodiles Hamburg in the second German division.
