The 33rd Men's Champions Trophy in hockey took place from December 3rd to 11th, 2011 in Auckland (New Zealand). For the first time there were two preliminary round groups, of which the group first and second came into a new group, as did the group last. Then there were knockout games. In the end, Australia won for the fourth time in a row .

The tournament was originally scheduled to take place in New Delhi, India. Since India was unable to form a joint hockey association for women and men - as prescribed by the IOC and the FIH - the trophy was moved to Auckland, New Zealand.
