Chattahoochee Hills is located approximately 25 miles southwest of Atlanta.

Chattahoochee Hills is a city in Fulton County in the US state of Georgia with 2378 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Chattahoochee Hills is about 30 km southwest of Atlanta and borders the Chattahoochee River to the west and the city of Palmetto to the east .

history

Chattahoochee Hills was founded as Chattahoochee Hill Country on December 1, 2007. On September 23, 2008 the name was changed to Chattahoochee Hills.

The city achieved international fame in 2013–2015 as the venue for the TomorrowWorld electro festival . As an offshoot of the Belgian Tomorrowland Festival, the event attracted more than 150,000 guests to Chattahoochee Hills each year. After the organizer SFX Entertainment filed for bankruptcy in 2016 , the event was discontinued in 2016.

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 2378 inhabitants at that time were distributed among 941 inhabited households, which gives an average of 2.53 people per household. There are a total of 1080 households.

72.2% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring) with an average size of 2.95 persons. Children under the age of 18 lived in 29.0% of all households and persons aged 65 or over in 29.1% of all households.

23.1% of the population were younger than 20 years, 19.0% were 20 to 39 years old, 34.3% were 40 to 59 years old, and 23.6% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 46 years. 50.2% of the population were male and 49.8% were female.

68.6% of the population identified themselves as whites , 28.0% as African-Americans , 0.2% as Indians and 0.3% as Asian Americans . 1.9% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.0% to several ethnic groups. 5.6% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

The average annual income per household was 60,913 USD , while 11.2% of the population lived below the poverty line.

Chattahoochee Hills is crossed by Georgia State Route 70 . The nearest airport is Atlanta Airport (around 30 km northeast).

crime

The crime rate in 2010 was 283 points (US average: 266 points) in the average range. There was one murder, 13 assaults, ten break-ins, 19 thefts and six car thefts.
