Chris Connolly (born July 23, 1987 in Duluth , Minnesota ) is an American ice hockey player who last played for the Iserlohn Roosters in the German Ice Hockey League .

Career

While in high school , Chris Connolly played for the Duluth Marshall School ice hockey team. In 2005 he moved to the Fargo-Moorhead Jets in the North American Hockey League , for which he played until 2007. In the 2007/08 season Connolly was active for the Omaha Lancers in the United States Hockey League and was able to win the Clark Cup . He then began studying history at Boston University and played for the local ice hockey team. With the Terriers he was able to win the championship of Hockey East and then the National Collegiate Athletic Association in his first year . From 2010 to 2012 Connolly was the captain of his crew.

For the 2012/13 season he signed his first professional contract with Tappara Tampere in the Finnish first division, which was extended in April 2013. Nevertheless, Connolly moved to the Iserlohn Roosters in the German Ice Hockey League in November 2013 . There he was able to convince, but decided to move to Leksands IF in Sweden for the new season , because there he got the opportunity to play together with his brother. In the Svenska Hockeyligan , the two brothers could not convince, so that their contracts were dissolved again in October 2014. While Jack Connolly moved to Rögle BK , Chris Connolly returned to the Iserlohn Roosters. With the Roosters, he reached the quarter-finals of the playoffs again and extended his contract in May 2015 by one year. In the 2015/16 season , Connolly was unable to return to normal performance due to a knee injury and was eliminated with his team for the third time in a row in the quarter-finals. In April 2016, the Roosters announced that they would not renew their contract with him.

International

Connolly played for the US national team at the 2013 Deutschland Cup . In three games he prepared three goals and was able to win the tournament with his team.
