Chris Taylor (born March 6, 1972 in Stratford , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who played for the New York Islanders , Boston Bruins and Buffalo Sabers in the National Hockey League during his playing career . His brother Tim was also a professional ice hockey player.
Player career
The 1.83 m tall center began his career with the London Knights in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League before he was selected in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft as 27th in the second round by the New York Islanders .
Initially, the left shooter played for various NY farm teams , his first NHL appearances for the Islanders he completed in the 1994/95 season . He did not get beyond this substitute player role at his other NHL stations, the Boston Bruins and the Buffalo Sabers , most recently he only played exclusively for the Rochester Americans , the AHL farm team of the Sabers. There he was awarded the Fred T. Hunt Memorial Award in 2005.
Before the 2006/07 season , the Canadian moved to the DEL to the Frankfurt Lions , for whom he played all 52 season games in his first season and scored twelve goals and 34 assists . In the play-offs , Taylor and the Lions finally failed in the quarter-finals to Adler Mannheim .
On July 16, 2009 Taylor announced that he would sign a two-year contract with Rochester Americans . After the 2010/11 season , the striker finally ended his active career.
