Jamie Johnson (born January 23, 1982 in Port Franks , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with the Cologne Sharks in the German Ice Hockey League .

Career

Jamie Johnson began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League , in which he was active from 1999 to 2003 for the Sarnia Sting and Oshawa Generals . From 2003 to 2005 the center played for one year in the ECHL , in which he was able to draw attention to himself, so that in the 2005/06 season he played mainly in the American Hockey League for the Iowa Stars . Before that, he had again played a few games for Augusta Lynx in the ECHL. The 2006/07 season began again with Augusta in the ECHL and Iowa in the AHL, but moved to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers within the AHL during the season . After he set up a new personal best in the AHL in the 2007/08 season with 58 points in 79 regular season games for the Albany River Rats , he went to Europe for the first time in the 2008/09 season , where he worked for TPS Turku in the Finnish SM -liiga stood on the ice. There he was able to convince with 31 scorer points, eight of them goals, in a total of 48 games. For the 2009/10 season the Canadian returned to North America and played for the Rochester Americans in the AHL. He spent the following two years with their league rivals Grand Rapids Griffins .

For the 2012/13 season Johnson was signed by Dinamo Riga from the Continental Hockey League . For the following season he returned to North America and joined the Hershey Bears from the American Hockey League.

In the 2014/15 season he was under contract with the Kölner Haien in the German Ice Hockey League , but was no longer employed after missing the play-offs.
