Christa Ritter (born December 25, 1942 in Berlin ) is a German filmmaker and journalist. Since 1978 she has been part of the self-awareness group around Rainer Langhans , which is known as " The Harem ".

Life

Ritter attended the Luisen Gymnasium in Düsseldorf . This was followed by an apprenticeship in publishing at Kindler and Schiermeyer Verlag in Munich. After first experience at the Munich advertising agency Dorland, she worked as an art buyer for the advertising agency Team and Special Team in Düsseldorf. Influenced by the departure of 68 , influenced by the emerging women's movement , she began to seek a self-determined life. Hence drug experiences, meditation attempts in Transcendental Meditation , polyamorous relationships (miscarriage, loss of “great love” through a car accident), agent for befriended photographers ( Peter Lindbergh , Hans Feurer ). First step to find out from the advertising: From 1970, she and her sister Veronika ran the “farm shop” for curious antiques in Düsseldorf's old town . After traveling in search through Africa and Asia, quitting the shop and never-ending relationship problems, she moved to Munich to learn to film. As an assistant director in the film she met in 1978 while filming the movie The Hamburg Syndrome Rainer Langhans know and joined as the fourth wife of the experimental community which Langhans since 1976 with photographer Anna Werner , the Model Brigitte Streubel and Jutta Winkelmann led, and the 1991 Jutta's twin sister Gisela Getty joined. In this search for female autonomy, which meant a less materialistic, but more spiritual life than a self-confident woman, the women soon called upon the respective personal resistances. How far they will be able to overcome this remains to be seen in the next few years. The spiritually oriented community of a total of five women around Langhans in Munich- Schwabing has not given up to this day. As a freelance author, she also wrote for the lifestyle magazines Tempo and Wiener , the FAZ-Magazin , the taz as well as for the Zeit - and the SZ-Magazin .

In 1989 she wrote after the first film Ein Neuss funeral? ( WDR ) wrote the screenplay for From Because of Love - APO's Most Beautiful Couple with Langhans and directed it himself. The television documentary about Langhans' relationship with Uschi Obermaier at the time of the German APO movement in the 1960s was also broadcast on WDR and nominated for the Grimme Prize . Then she produced the documentary Die Perversität des Persers for WDR as a relationship drama between Lisa Fitz and her boyfriend (written and directed by Ritter and Langhans). Ritters and Langhans' documentary SchneeweißRosenrot about the twin sisters and companions Jutta Winkelmann and Gisela Getty, which was classified as “particularly valuable” and for which she and Langhans were awarded the 1994 Adolf Grimme Prize , was also premiered on WDR . This was followed by the documentation Get up and say no very quietly about the young people of the ex- GDR and their longing for the fall of the Berlin Wall . For Spiegel TV she shot a filmic encounter between the two ex-communards Fritz Teufel and Rainer Langhans together with Langhans and the women of the "Harem" using small video cameras on unusual bicycles as a bicycle caravan through Brandenburg . Another Grimme nomination was awarded to the television film Fisch mit Fahrrad by Ritter and Langhans, first broadcast on ZDF in 1995 , in which a triathlon athlete named Klaus Haetzel , who is a public relations worker in the service of the State of Berlin, devotes his life to extreme sports in the hope of expanding his awareness to be able to. The documentary Death Pioneers on the taboo topic of dying in Germany was created again for the SWR together with Langhans . In August 1998 she organized a three-day event “68-89-98” with Langhans and the women as a generation mix “Ready to Ruck?” In the Berlin Congress Hall and in the Tempodrom . In 2003 she went to tv with the women and Langhans . munich on the air daily for three weeks: commune was the name of the reality show of a staged togetherness, viewed around the clock by nine cameras. The women showed as openly as possible, also offensive, how dramatic a woman's search for her own spirit can be. The series was repeated many times, including on tv.berlin and in Switzerland. In 2008 she and Rainer Langhans published the picture book K 1 - the picture book of the municipality in the Blumenbar publishing house. This unusual photo collection tells of the time of the infamous and revolutionary Commune I , which Langhans co-founded in Berlin in 1967. For a few years she developed a movie project about the once brilliant lead guitarist Peter Green of the band "Fleetwood Mac" and his encounter with young German Communards, which threw him on his way to himself and initially made him disappear in sanatoriums.

At the end of April 2012, Ritter joined the Pirate Party at the federal party conference in Neumünster and spontaneously ran for the office of deputy federal chairman. Since then she has been primarily involved in the Trailerpiraten group, which produces audiovisual formats (including pirate talk). In spring 2013 Severin Winzenburg shot the documentary "Good Luck Finding Yourself" about Jutta Winkelmann's journey (accompanied by Rainer Langhans, Christa Ritter and Brigitte Streubel) through India for the cinema and the BR, looking for a master. In 2015 her travel report "STYX - the journey begins" was published as an e-book. In March 2017 the book "#soists" by Rainer Langhans (ghostwriter and publisher Christa Ritter) was self- published under ISBN 978-3-00-055986-0 .
