Christian Blouin
Christian Conrad Blouin CMM (born November 1, 1941 in Saint-Sébastien , Québec , Canada ; † January 12, 2019 ) was a Canadian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Lae .
Life
Christian Blouin joined the religious order of the Mariannhill Missionaries , made his profession on August 22, 1963 and the Archbishop of Sherbrooke , Louis Joseph Jean Marie Fortier , ordained him a priest on May 3, 1969 .
Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Lae on February 15, 2007 . The episcopal ordination donated to him the emeritus Bishop of Lae, Henry Anthony A. van Lieshout CMM, on May 5th of the same year; Co - consecrators were Francisco Montecillo Padilla , Apostolic Nuncio in Papua New Guinea , and Wilhelm Kurtz SVD , Archbishop of Madang .
Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on October 10, 2018.
