Christian Ernst von Puttkamer

Christian Ernst von Puttkammer (born October 24, 1706 in Kublitz ; † January 29, 1771 in Neustadt-Eberswalde ) was Prussian major general and most recently chief of garrison regiment No. 7 .

Life

origin

Christian Ernst was a member of the von Puttkamer family . His parents were the heir to Plassow and Kublitz , Marius von Puttkamer († 1714) and his wife Erdmuth Regine von Kleist (1673-1744).

career

Following family tradition, he embarked on a military career as a cadet in Berlin on August 26, 1723 . On February 8, 1729 he was a private corporal in the newly established infantry regiment "von Dossow" No. 31 . He advanced on May 20, 1732 to Ensign , on January 16, 1732 to Sekonde - and on January 1, 1742 to first lieutenant . He took part in the Second Silesian War and rose to staff captain on September 28, 1747 . His promotion to captain and company commander took place on September 26, 1747. On September 17, 1755 he was major and on May 5, 1758 he was lieutenant colonel and on February 3, 1760 colonel and commander of the regiment. In 1765 - after the death of the regiment owner - he became chief of Infantry Regiment No. 23 ( Forcade ). In May 1766 he was promoted to major general. In the same month he exchanged with Christoph Friedrich von Rentzell and took over the garrison regiment No. 7 , while Rentzell received the regiment No. 23. Christian Ernst von Puttkamer died unmarried in Neustadt-Eberswalde in 1771.
