North German Sinfonietta

The North German Sinfonietta ( proper spelling : North German sinfonietta ) is an orchestra workshop based in Rendsburg , Schleswig-Holstein . In this chamber orchestra , schoolchildren and students have the opportunity to gain orchestral experience alongside professional musicians. Since it was founded in 2000, the north German sinfonietta has given numerous concerts in Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg as well as international concert tours.

Characteristic

In the concentrated atmosphere of a chamber orchestra, an experienced professional musician plays with a young instrumentalist at each desk. The professional musicians come from a. from the state symphony orchestras Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg.

The focus of the orchestra is the examination of the music of the 20th and 21st centuries in all of its variety of styles. A special trademark are conceptual programs that also include non-musical levels such as texts, dance or culinary delights.

The north German sinfonietta is a member of Jeunesses Musicales Germany . The orchestra's patron is Ute Erdsiek-Rave , Vice Prime Minister of Schleswig-Holstein (from 2005 to July 2009).

Concert activity

The northern German sinfonietta is at home in northern Germany. Her concert activities have taken the North German sinfonietta to Flensburg, Kiel, Rendsburg, Lübeck, Hamburg, Schwerin, Wismar and Berlin and on the four- master Kruzenshtern . In addition, she has performed at several international festivals:

  • In 2005 she was invited to Poland twice : During the ProBaltica she gave concerts in spring a. a. in Toruń and Warsaw , where u. a. the clarinet concerto was premiered by Magdalena Cynk . In summer the sinfonietta was a guest at the Mikolower Musiktage
  • In 2006 there was an exchange between Polish musicians with concerts a. a. in Slupsk (Poland), Ratzeburg and Geesthacht (Schleswig-Holstein) under the direction of B. Jarmolowicz.
  • At the invitation of the Tunisian Ministry of Education, she played in August 2006 a. a. at the Festival International de Musique Symphonique d ' El Jem , Tunisia ,
  • The opening concert of the Flensburg folk festival folkBALTICA 2007, Sibelius' Erben , with the German and Danish premiere of the accordion concerto by Timo Alakotila, was recorded by NDR and broadcast live, and brought the North German sinfonietta to Sønderborg , Denmark .
  • In August 2008 several appearances with a pop band took place in Helsinki and Karis ( Faces -Ethno-Festival), Finland .
  • On the occasion of Artur Grenz's 100th birthday, a memorial concert with works by him and his teacher Paul Hindemith took place in Quickborn in 2009.
  • In the same year the North German sinfonietta was involved in performances of L. Bernstein's MASS .
  • In 2010 she was involved in the nationwide project Sounding D of the Federal Cultural Foundation as a network partner of the Kiel Festival Chiffren .

Artistic Director

Christian Gayed (* 1966) studied teaching and double bass in Detmold . He attended double bass master classes with Ulrich Lau (Stuttgart) and studied conducting with Sergiu Celibidache and Konrad von Abel . As assistant to Günther Neidlinger , he worked a. a. at the West Saxon Philharmonic . In 2000 he founded the north German sinfonietta , of which he has been artistic director ever since. He also appears as a composer.
