Christian Hofer (born March 6, 1979 ) is a former Italian biathlete .

Christian Hofer entered his first international championship at the Biathlon Junior World Championships 1998 in Jericho , where he was only used in singles and was 37th. A year later he finished 24th in the individual, 28th in the sprint, 17 in the pursuit in Pokljuka and just missed a medal with, among others, Yuri Bradanini as fourth in the relay competition. The next major event was the 2002 European Biathlon Championships in Kontiolahti . Hofer finished 46th in both the sprint and the pursuit and 11th in relay with Theo Senoner , Sergio Bonaldi and Enrico Tach . The Italian won his first European Cup points in 2002 as 17th of an individual in Obertilliach . After some other good results in the European Cup, Hofer was called up to the Biathlon World Cup in 2004 , where he finished 92nd in a sprint in Ruhpolding and 93rd in an individual in Antholz . It remained the only missions in the highest racing series. In the European Cup in Gurnigel 2005 he achieved several placements among the top ten. In Martell , he was able to get onto the podium for the first time in a sprint in 2006, behind Paolo Longo and Sergio Bonaldi . In the following pursuer he was able to improve to second place behind Tanguy Roche . This was followed by participation in the 2006 European Biathlon Championships in Langdorf , where Hofer was 42nd of the individual and with Markus Windisch , Stefan Zingerle and Mattia Cola as the starting runner with the relay 11th. After the season he ended his career.
