Christian Schlichter

Christian Schlichter (born September 6, 1828 in Wiesbaden ; † March 1, 1883 ibid) was a German lawyer and politician.

Schlichter attended the Wiesbaden pedagogy and the Weilburg grammar school and began studying law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg in 1847 . In 1848 he and his future predecessor became the first mayor of Wiesbaden to become a member of the Corps Nassovia Heidelberg and in 1849 he was one of the founders of the Corps Rhenania Heidelberg, which still exists today . In 1858 he became an accessist at the Wiesbaden Court Court, and in 1863 he became a ducal auditor. In 1866 he took up an activity as an auditor with the 2nd Nassau Regiment in Wiesbaden and was a magistrate in Eltville from 1867 to 1879 . As a national liberal politician, Schlichter was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives for the constituency of Wiesbaden 6 (Oberamt Meisenheim, Rheingau district) from 1877 to 1882 . He was then first mayor of Wiesbaden from July 12, 1882 until his death .

He found his final resting place in the north cemetery in Wiesbaden .

A street in Wiesbaden is named after him.
