Christian von Borczyskowski

Christian von Borczyskowski (born July 11, 1946 in Husum ) is a German physicist and university professor.

Live and act

After graduating from high school, Borczyskowski did his military service from 1966 to 1968. From 1968 to 1973 he studied physics at the University of Bonn and the Free University of Berlin . As a graduate physicist, he then worked as a research assistant at the Free University of Berlin. In 1977 he received his doctorate on the subject of ODMR and ODENDOR investigations on the excited triplet state of quinoxaline and p-dichlorobenzene in a monocrystalline matrix . From 1979 to 1980 he was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Leiden (Netherlands). From 1981 to 1993 he headed the organic materials laboratory at the Faculty of Physics at the Free University of Berlin. During this time he completed his habilitation in 1987 in the field of experimental physics . In 1993 he accepted the call as full professor for optical spectroscopy and molecular physics at the Technical University of Chemnitz . From 1994 to 1997 he was the dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and from 1997 to 2000 he was the rector of the university.

He is the author of more than 160 scientific publications.
