Karl Mühlmann
Karl Robert Mühlmann (born November 21, 1873 in Chemnitz ; † March 12, 1946 in Dresden ) was a German mechanical engineer and director of the Chemnitz State Technical College, the predecessor of the Chemnitz University of Technology .
Life
Mühlmann studied mechanical engineering and electrical engineering at the technical universities of Stuttgart and Dresden . He then worked as an engineer in an AEG design office in Berlin, in the Königlich Württembergischen railway workshops and in the shipyard in Friedrichshafen .
After these practical activities, he was hired as a teacher for mechanical technology at the Chemnitz State Technical College. From 1908 to 1920 he was director of this facility. In 1913 he went on a study trip to North America to get to know the school system there. He described his impressions in a travelogue about the technical and commercial school system in North America .
In 1920 he was appointed to the Saxon Ministry of Economics.
