Christoph Freitag (born January 21, 1990 in Judenburg ) is an Austrian football player on the position of midfielder .
Career
Friday began his active career as a football player in Knittelfeld in Styria, only a few kilometers from his birthplace . There he played from 1996 to 2004 in the offspring of the ASK Rot-Weiss Knittelfeld and went through several youth division. At the beginning of February 2004, Freitag decided to move to FC Knittelfeld, which is also based in the same region . Five months later he transferred to the youth department of FK Austria Wien and also attended the Frank Stronach Academy in Hollabrunn . After he made 18 appearances in the Toto- sponsored U-19 youth league in the 2007/08 season , he was also in the squad of the second team of Austria, who play in the second-class first division.
In the second team of Vienna Austria he made his debut as a professional football player on April 25, 2008 in a 4-1 away win when he was substituted on for Harald Unverdorben in the 63rd minute of the game . In the same game he succeeded in the third minute of stoppage time after a presentation by Christian Haselberger, the goal to make it 4-1.
During the season, the young midfielder made another five professional appearances. In the 2008/09 season , Friday was used more often by the amateurs, but initially he only made a few short appearances, later he managed to spend a long time on the pitch. With Innsbruck he was promoted to the Bundesliga in 2018. With Wacker he had to relegate from the Bundesliga in 2019. After relegation, he moved to second division SC Austria Lustenau for the 2019/20 season , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2021.
