Matthias Maak (born May 12, 1992 in Bruck an der Mur ) is an Austrian football player . He is under contract with the second division club SC Austria Lustenau .
Career
Maak started his career at TuS Krieglach . In 2006 he came to the academy of FK Austria Vienna . In 2009 he moved to the regional division SV Wienerberg . Maak made his debut for the Viennese in August 2009 when he was in the starting line-up against SV Würmla on matchday three of the 2009/10 season and was replaced by Mario Felber in the 62nd minute.
For the 2010/11 season he moved to the Bundesliga club SC Wiener Neustadt . He also became a cooperation player at the regional division SC Neusiedl am See . In February 2011 Maak made his debut for the Lower Austrians in the Bundesliga when he came on as a substitute for Alexander Grünwald in the 88th minute against FK Austria Wien on matchday 21 of that season .
After three years at SCWN, he moved to the second division Kapfenberger SV in the summer of 2013 . In January 2014 he moved to SV Grödig , later he was also permanently signed.
After the Grödigers retired from professional football, Maak moved to SønderjyskE Fodbold in Denmark for the 2016/17 season , where he received a contract valid until June 2018.
Maak returned to Austria for the 2017/18 season, where he joined the second division club FC Wacker Innsbruck , with whom he received a contract valid until June 2018. With Innsbruck he rose to the Bundesliga at the end of the season and was relegated from the Bundesliga after the following season 2018/19.
After relegation, Maak moved to Bundesliga club SCR Altach for the 2019/20 season , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2021. He made 16 Bundesliga appearances for Altach. For the 2020/21 season he moved to the second division club SC Austria Lustenau , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2021.
